The Measure of a Pet

My dog is a most wonderful creature! I decide this as I sit and watch him stare out the window, seemingly content, appreciating every small detail that passes through his unique vision. It is the ultimate in simple pleasure, but for whom? Is it for the dog, or for the person watching, who, with full satisfaction, shares a sublime moment in watching nature's immeasurable beauty on an indisputably beautiful Fall day?

Is that why we choose to bring a pet into our lives? Their innocence helps contrast the deliberate, decisive ways of day-to-day living that we get so caught up in and why we sometimes miss the simple joys in life!

Thank heavens then, for these spontaneous segways, like times at the window, when our canine friends languor in the beauty of the moment. Their imitation of mindfulness is priceless, through which we could perhaps learn the value of living in the present.

And the search goes on...

I am currently job hunting! YUCK! It's tougher than I thought. I have faith though! Something will connect. It's been a great time to re-charge and figure out my interests, priorities etc...
